Jeremiah Peterson, un estadounidense de 40 años y padre de tres niños, se ha hecho conocido en las redes sociales por su increíble transformación física al perder 40 kilos en poco más de cinco meses.

No solo por eso, sino por el motivo de tan arduo esfuerzo, que no es otro que sus más allegados. Al darse cuenta de que su familia se avergonzaba de él cuando pesaba más de 130 kilos, Peterson decidió comenzar este desafío con su cuerpo -y su salud-.

"Mi esposa y mis hijos me llamaron un día para que les fuera a ayudar porque se les había estropeado la bicicleta. Salí a toda prisa olvidándome de ponerme la camiseta. Cuando me bajé del coche me di cuenta que todo el mundo podría ver mi inmensa barriga y sentí lo avergonzada que se sentía mi familia al verme así. No había pensado mucho en mi aumento de peso hasta ese momento", comentó el padre de familia.

You are unhappy because your life doesn't match the way you think it should be. You have an idea of what you and your life should be like... If I can do it, or someone else can do you YOU CAN TOO!!! Do something NOW that confirms in your head and your heart that you mean business! Quit lying to yourself. Quit short changing yourself. DO SOMETHING NOW!!!

Entonces, decidió ponerle remedio y, a través de su cuenta de Instagram, fue publicando los avances que se producían en su cuerpo. Combinando una estricta dieta cetogénica y ejercicio intensivo y regular, el hombre, que vive en Montana con su familia y trabaja en una tienda de antigüedades, comenzó su particular transformación. Durante cinco meses pasó dos horas saliendo de excursión y una hora diaria en el gimnasio. De esta forma, Jeremiah perdió 37 kilos y, con ellos, varias tallas de pantalón.

Being fat hurts. I'm not talking about your feet hurting when you walk or your back aching for no apparent reason. . I'm talking about the hurt you feel when you get on the airplane, you squeeze into your seat and the people next to you look at you and give you that look like you've given up on life. . I'm talking about when you're in bed with your spouse and you feel ashamed and disgusted with your body. . I'm talking about when you go to the doctor and you step on the scale and you're too ashamed to look at the number. . I'm talking about going to your kids school play and sitting down in the crowd of parents and you know you are the fat one. . None of these things hurt physically but inside it's like bruising an already brown banana. . It turns a part of us into mush and it feels like we can never get back from that place. . No matter how many nights at 7 o'clock you vowed to wake up the next morning and go to the gym and at least walk on the treadmill....when that 5 o'clock alarm goes off apathy slides back in. . And we start it over and over again only to be disappointed, angry, frustrated and hurt by no one else but ourselves. . That is what I'm saying when I say being fat hurts. . We all crave understanding, recognition and companionship. . There's a reason we crave those things and why it's important we work alongside someone. . We have to have accountability, we need to be able to talk to somebody about our failures and have their accountability to pull ourselves up and succeed. People ask me all the time how my program is different than other programs? The answer is I've been fat and I know how much it hurts to be fat. I can walk this journey with you and know what you mean when you say I messed up and I can't do this anymore. I'm not going to judge you but I'm going to hold you accountable and I'm gonna tell you to wake up tomorrow morning and get right back on track. Trust me when I say doing this with somebody else who's walked this road is so much more comforting than walking this with somebody who's never been overweight a day in their life.

DO YOU REALLY DO THE WORK OR IS IT THAT YOU PRETEND TO DO THE WORK? I get a lot of feedback about my fitness journey "you must spend all day in the gym" or "it must be nice to have that kind of time" or "what about work and family". The truth is I run 2 businesses that I work at 7 days a week, I have 3 kids who all participate in multiple sports and programs and I still have a social life. It's just my wife and I who run the businesses, no employees, our house is clean and no we don't have a maid and our cars are running because I fix them. Beyond work and the gym I read books, I watch tv, I love cooking and my family and I go to church every Sunday and spend the rest of the day together. Trust me I understand busy. The difference is I don't look at it as busy, I see it as being productive. I want to be productive. Believe me- If I can find the time and persistence to make these goals happen, so can you!
